Your Next GMC Sierra Could Drive Itself
If you are the busy parent of a growing family, a success-minded professional, a studious academic, or all of the above, you’ve probably caught yourself longing for an extra hand. Thanks to the latest feature arriving on the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali, your wish could be granted sooner rather than later.
The next generation of GMC’s most popular pickup is set to release with a hands-free driver-assistance technology called Super Cruise.
The Super Cruise system, which is also expected to arrive for the GMC Hummer EV, lets you drive hands-free on over 200,000 miles of roadway across North America. Super Cruise relies upon a sophisticated network of GPS information, cameras, LiDAR map data, and sensors to fully control your Sierra Denali’s braking, steering, and accelerating.
Though Super Cruise is already available on a few other GM brands, this marks the first time the semi-autonomous feature has been made available on a pickup truck, and will be the technology’s first foray into the GMC lineup. The feature is expected to be a smash hit with Denver, Colorado, residents who love to use their pickup trucks to haul recreation equipment, as Super Cruise will be capable of hands-free towing.
